Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her real name Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016 she dropped Pho, her first EP for the Dreamville Records label. This was when she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet back in 2012 after she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued to post her music online including her self-released single Bound. The 21st day of July, 2015, Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes song"Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her submit her tracks for the Dreamville Team in the following year as he wanted Rihanna to be able work together on a few references. Her announcement to sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21 2016 she released her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his song Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it was released on September 5th. Then on November 9, she released two additional singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two more singles were released by her on 11/13 Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February, the music video for this track was launched. It has had over 3 million YouTube views in just a single week. In December of 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
